Marketplace Events LLC filed the initial Trademark application on March 26, 2020. The application’s registration date was October 13, 2020. Furthermore, Philly Home + Garden Show Trademark is for planning and hosting commercial exhibitions. Additionally, it is for trade shows for home design, decorating, landscaping, and more related things.
The Words Home and Garden Were Both Disclaimed.
However, Marketplace Events LLC must disclaim the words, “HOME + GARDEN SHOW”. The Trademark Office requires a disclaimer when the applied-for mark includes unprotectable words and phrases. These phrases include descriptive words. Here, the Office considered, “HOME + GARDEN SHOW”, as descriptive words. Consequently, the office denied the Show the exclusive rights to the words, ““HOME + GARDEN SHOW.” However, even with the disclaimed word requirments, the Show received a trademark.
