Eastern State Penitentiary – 2027 Fairmount Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19130

On October 26, 2010, Eastern State Penitentiary was registered as a trademark for use in Museums by the Eastern State Penitentiary Historic Site, Inc.  The description of the mark “consists of the words “Eastern” and “State” in line above the word “Penitentiary” in a distressed font consisting of large and small capital letters.”

The Eastern State Penitentiary is a historic prison that hosts Terror Behind the Walls.  Hollywood-quality special effects, custom props, and hundreds of live performers are strategically placed throughout the 11-acre complex to provoke extreme terror amongst the visitors.

Visitors have the option to fully immerse themselves into the experience.  If given permission upon entering the attraction, performers may grab the visitors, take them into hidden passageways or hold them back for the ultimate scare.  For a more interactive attraction, head down to the Machine Shop where you will be led to cell blocks and spaces never before open to the public.

Bates Motel – 1835 Middletown Road, Glen Mills, PA 19342

On August 19, 2008, Bates Motel was registered as a trademark for use in “Entertainment services in the nature of an annual Halloween event featuring a haunted hayride, a haunted house, a haunted corn maze, a haunted trail, which employ actors and scare tactics with the intention of entertaining customers, by Agritainment Incorporated.

According to the Travel Channel, Bates Motel is “One of America’s scariest haunts.”  Visitors experience a Motel, Haunted Hayride, and Haunted Corn Trail.  When you check into the Motel, you are surrounded by levitating spirits, moving pictures, eerie screams, and may even experience personal interactions with the actors.

The Haunted Hayride is 25 minutes of terror as you drive through the dark forest past an asylum, a cave, and an old New England Church.

The third show takes place in the corn field of Arasapha Farm.  Actors, animatronic monsters, and intense sound effects will scare you at every turn.

Pennhurst Asylum – 250 Common Wealth Drive, Spring City, PA 19475

On August 21, 2012, PENNHURST was registered as a trademark for use in “Entertainment services, namely, guided tours of fabricated horror attractions; entertainment media production services for motion pictures, television and Internet; and entertainment in the nature of seances” by Pennhurst Acquisition L.P. Timothy Smith and Richard Chakejian.

Pennhurst Asylum has been home to some of the most dangerous and criminally insane prisoners in the world.  Guests are welcome to navigate the Maximum Security Wing as they venture past the cells of the most hostile patients.

Other attractions include The Morgue, Containment (Tunnels), and Mayflower after Dark.
